Jean-Louis Comolli is a critic and filmmaker and his work challenges the usual division between fiction and documentary. He was editor of Cahiers du Cinema from 1966 to 1971. He writes for magazines Traffic, Images documentaires and Jazz Magazine. He is also the author of more than 30 documentaries, and of an important theoretical and critical work
